This Time Last Night is the debut album from folk-country singer-songwriter Esther Rose. Originally self-released in 2017 on CD, it's now available on vinyl for the first time. The album was recorded at Mashed Potato Studios in New Orleans live to tape by Sam Doores (of The Deslondes) and Duff Thompson. The album made its way to Jack White, who asked Rose to record vocals for two songs on 2018's Boarding House Reach. After This Time Last Night, Rose signed to Father/Daughter Records for her second and third albums, You Made It This Far and How Many Times. In 2023 she signed to New West Records and released her fourth album Safe to Run. Earlier this year she released her fifth album Want."On This Time, she channels country pioneers in a way that sounds incredibly genuine and free of contrivance. Her voice has a pitched-up June Carter quality, her melodies are simple like Jimmie Rodgers's, and her tone is reminiscent of bluesy, lovelorn greats like Rex Griffin and Patsy Cline." - The FADER
