New - Kerosene Heights - Southeast Of Somewhere - LP

I gotta say there is really something special about the band Kerosene Heights.

Maybe it's because we're of a similar age. Maybe it's because they remind me a lot of the bands I used to love growing up. Maybe it's because we can talk about niche screamo records together. But mostly I think it's because their records fuckin' smoke!

Southeast Of Somewhere has a somewhat tragic story and it's one that I can relate to, being vanquished by a no-longer-existing record label which we both had challenging experiences with. That said, they have made it out cleanly on the other side and this LP, which was challenging to find in the wild for so many reasons, is now available for everyone and anyone. 

Kerosene Heights has been grouped in with the 5th wave emo bands, but this record has all the key takeaways from the scenes I grew up involved with. There is nostalgia here but it doesn't sound outdated or phony. An LP of killer songs that could have been made in 1999, 2009, 2019 or even now in 2025.
