The Screamers were arguably the greatest L.A. punk band that never officially released ANYTHING in their all-to-brief existence from 1977-79. Unusual for a band of the time, they had no guitars or bass; just two keyboards, drums & a singer, Tomata du Plenty, whose psychotic & confrontational presence amidst the band's detached cool on stage highlighted Screamers' mission to challenge the audience & evoke - as du Plenty noted "a state of anxiety". Endlessly bootlegged from various dodgy sources, this version on Superior Viaduct is sourced from the original reel-to-reels & is the best it has EVER sounded. Sold out at the source (for now), so get this while the gettin's good!
